DEAP calculates a dwelling’s domestic hot water and related energy demand based on the assumed occupancy level, together with the number and types of baths and showers included in the assessment. The methodology assumes that all bath and shower fixtures entered contribute to satisfying the overall hot water requirement. The total energy demand and hot water usage are then distributed among these fixtures in proportion to their share of the total number of bath and shower entries recorded in the assessment.
In an existing dwelling, if any information is unknown, use the option that is most likely for the dwelling and gives the highest primary energy use in DEAP.
For showers, assume Vented with Pump as the default, as it uses the highest flow rate.
If there is no bath or shower in the dwelling, leave the relevant data fields blank. DEAP will display an amber warning, but this can be ignored. In this case, DEAP automatically assumes one bath in the background calculation.
